Anthracite Anthracite Anthracite

This mineral is extracted directly from the mines and contains a high proportion of carbon, low volatility and low sulfur content, which give it excellent properties for use in reduction processes or as a source of energy.

Depending on the origin of the mining basin, there are three types of anthracite:

  1. Low volatile contents
This type of anthracite is especially suitable for carbon/reduction contribution, such as steel, metal and chemicals
COMPOSITION

This ore is extracted directly from the mines and contains a high rate of carbon, low volatility, and low sulfur content, which give it excellent properties for use in reduction processes, and also as a source of energy.

Depending on the origin of the mining basin, three types of anthracite qualities are identified, namely:

  1. Low volatile matter content
This type of anthracite is particularly suitable for carbon supply/reductant applications, such as in the iron and steel industry, metallurgy and chemistry.
COMPOSITION
Humidity 10%
Ashes 2-10%
Volatile materials 2-3%
Sulfur 1% max
Fixed carbon 88% min.

  1. Medium volatile matter content
This type of anthracite is particularly suitable for domestic use, both for its ash content and for its high level of volatile matter, which allows it to be used in industry.
