With the new Coto anthracite mine, a new company called Antracita de Gillon is created in 1970 to combine all mining activities of the group.

Explotaciones Mineras de Cordoba is created in 1980 to work the new opencast steam coal mine San Antonio (Cordoba).

In 1996, the solid fuel division of Comercial Garcia Munte breaks away to form a new company Garcia Munte Energía S.L.

In 1998,, the Dutch firm SSM Coal merges with Garcia-Munte Energia. The synergies created by this merger transform GME into a major solid fuel distributor.
